Good Neighbor Day | Three hours, 30,000 Roses and One Great Cause

Produced by Jim Albritton | In 1994, Brook Jacobs, a florist and owner of Greenbrook Flowers in Jackson, Mississippi, created Good Neighbor Day. Sixteen years later it has blossomed worldwide. The concept is simple: one day each September thousands of roses are given away by the dozen. Each person who takes them promises to keep one for themselves and give the others to friends, family or perfect strangers. For years the event in Jackson has also benefited the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children.
