Clean-up continues in south Mississippi nearly three months after a large EF4 multiple-vortex wedge tornado devastated portions of Hattiesburg and Petal. The tornado which struck in late afternoon was one of eight tornadoes that touched down in southern Mississippi and southwestern Alabama on February 10, 2013. The tornado reached a maximum path width of .75 miles and had estimated maximum sustained winds of 170 mph in the Oak Grove community. The University of Southern Mississippi suffered extensive damage.
