Photos | Original Air Force One Lands in Mount Pleasant, Texas

Click here for photos of this historic March 21, 2016 flight.

The Columbine II, a Lockheed Constellation, was the first USAF plane designated as Air Force One. The aircraft, which served President Dwight Eisenhower, will be refurbished in Bridgewater, Virginia. After more than a decade grounded, the historic plane began its cross-country journey from Marina, Arizona to Virginia on March 21, stopping at the Mount Pleasant Regional Airport in Texas. A crew from Mount Pleasant-based Mid America Flight Museum is escorting the Columbine II on its historic trip.

A Newsocracy video news story about the plane and its cross-country journey will be posted soon.
