Restored B-29 'Doc' Symbolizes Patriotism, Love of Aviation

Medical School Legacy is a Roadmap to a Healthier Mississippi

Produced by Jim Albritton | The newest building to be unveiled on the Medical Center campus is more than a five-story, 151,000-foot arrangement of brick and mortar and steel. To its champions, admirers, occupants and stewards, the new School of Medicine and its many attractions represent a tribute to the “giants and heroes of the past,” “state-of-the-art learning environments that are the envy of any medical school in the country,” a place that makes you feel “special and privileged,” and, most of all, “home.”

Miss Mississippi 2017 Anne Elizabeth Buys Visits Batson Children's Hospital 

Produced by Jim Albritton | Coloring pictures of kittens and puppies, drawing butterflies and making Play-Doh masterpieces – it was all part of Miss Mississippi Anne Elizabeth Buys’ July 5 visit with Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children patients since winning the title June 24. Buys, of Vicksburg, will represent the state in the Miss America Organization pageant, set for Sept. 10 in Atlantic City, N.J.

Commencement 2017 | University of Mississippi Medical Center

They’re fanning out through Mississippi and beyond to touch patients’ lives and improve their health and well-being. The Medical Center’s graduates come from the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Graduate Studies in the Health Sciences, and Health Related Professions.

Greenville High, Batson Teachers Host Graduation for Hospitalized Senior

Produced by Jim Albritton | When Greenville High administrators and hospital school teachers learned Batson Children’s Hospital patient Freddie Green wasn’t going to be home in time for graduation, they brought the ceremony to him. A busload of his classmates, along with school leaders, friends and family, traveled from Greenville to UMMC Monday to attend the commencement, complete with cap, gown and “Pomp and Circumstance.”
